David Coles is an Incident Commander and Special Projects lead on the Global Resilience team within TikTok's Global Security Organization. David, a former Military Police Detective, spent over a decade in the British Army, investigating serious and complex criminal matters. During his time in the private sector, he handled high-profile data issues at Meta and insider threat-related public policy matters at Barclays Bank. More recently, prior to joining TikTok, he was part of the leadership team at a Cyber Threat Intelligence startup. He holds a host of cybersecurity, incident management, and data privacy certifications from ISC2, Harvard Business School online, and the SANS institute, among others.
