A Case Study from The Cyber Scheme  – including actions and tips for supporting neurodiverse individuals in the workplace

The Cyber Scheme is a training and assessment body working with technical security consultants on their individual career paths – whether that’s certification for the NCSC CHECK and Cyber Advisor schemes, professional registration with the UK Cyber Security Council or hands-on training courses.

5% of candidates attending The Cyber Scheme’s assessments and training courses have let us know that they require reasonable adjustments prior to attending. We made the decision in 2023 to ignore this number and provide as much support as we can, regardless of whether candidates have asked for it or not.

Debi will present the actions that were taken to increase the level of support provided and how these actions can be adopted by anyone committed to supporting a neurodiverse workforce.

Debi will also talk about how The Cyber Scheme believe that inclusivity should mean exactly that – rather than asking individuals to explain what they need, we should encourage the idea that everyone should be offered support in the workplace and should never have to ask for it or be singled out.
